Mark a board as private to temporarily hide personal content when someone else is looking at your screen.
How It Works
Any board can be marked as private in its settings. Private boards are hidden using the personal content toggle in the top navigation.
- Toggle
— safe is open i.e. private boards are visible, you can work with them normally - Toggle
— safe is closed i.e. private boards disappear from the tree, their notes are excluded from search and lists
When you toggle private boards off, you cannot see them either — the toggle hides content from anyone looking at the screen, including you.
Use Cases
Colleague at your desk
A colleague sits down at your computer to show you something. Before handing over the screen, toggle off personal content — your private boards and notes vanish instantly. Toggle them back on when you're alone again.
Sharing your screen
Before a video call or screen share, switch off personal content so private notes don't appear in search results or the board list while you navigate the app.
Setting a Board as Private
- Open the board settings
- Enable the Private board option
- Use the toggle in the top navigation to show or hide all private boards at once
The toggle hides content from everyone at the screen — including you. It is not an access control feature; it is a quick way to clear personal content from view.
